Pronombres posesivos

Los pronombres posesivos nos indican a quién pertenece algo.

Ejemplo:

• I own a laptop. It is my laptop. = Yo tengo un laptop. Es mi laptop.
• You own a purse. It is your purse. = Tú tienes un bolso. Es tu bolso.
• He owns a car. It is his car. = Él tiene un carro. Es su carro.
• She owns an apartment. It is her apartment. = Ella tiene un apartamento. Es suapartamento.
• My cat has a collar. It is its collar.= Mi gato tiene un collar. Es su collar.
• We own a country house. It is our country house. = Nosotros tenemos una casa de campo. Es nuestra casa de campo.
• They own a business. It is their business. Ellos tienen un negocio. Es su negocio.
  

Adjetivos posesivos

Veamos algunos ejemplos del uso de los adjetivos posesivos:

MY

• My stomach is hurting. = Mi estómago me está doliendo.
  
• My car is red. = Mi carro es rojo.
  
• I am a chef. I like my job. = Soy chef. Me gusta mi trabajo.
  
• I live with my boyfriend in Paris. = Vivo con mi novio en París.

YOUR

• Your arm is broken. =Tu brazo está partido.
  
• Let me take your blood presure. = Déjame tomar tu tensión arterial.
  
• What is your name? =¿Cuál es tu nombre?
  
• Do you like your job? = ¿Te gusta tu trabajo?

HIS

• He needs to take his medicine. = Él tiene que tomar su medicina.
  
• They need to control his anxietywith pills. = Ellos tienen que controlar su ansiedad con pastillas.
  
• Fredy cuts his hair every month. = Fredy corta su pelo una vez al mes.
  
• Greg can’t find his mobile phone. = Greg no puede encontrar su celular.

HER

• They are going to run exams of her heart. = Ellos van a realizar exámenes de su corazón.
  
• I borrowed her pencil to fill out my form. = Tomé su lápiz prestado para llenar mi formulario.
  
• I like her skirt. = Me gusta su falda.
  
• I borrowed her comb. = Tomé prestado su cepillo.

ITS

• This milk is expired. Its expiration date was last month. = Esta leche está vencida. Su fecha de vencimiento fue el mes pasado.
  
• The door needs to be repaired. Its handle is broken. = La puerta necesita ser reparada. Su manija está rota.
  
• I like that painting, its colors are beautiful. =  Me gusta esa pintura,sus colores son hermosos.

THEIR

• No one knows the reason for their headaches. = Nadie sabe cuál es la razón de sus dolores de cabeza.
  
• The babies need to be examined. They need to find their forms first. = Los bebés tienen que ser examininados. Ellos tienen que encontrar sus formularios primero.
  
• They asked for their phone number.= Ellos preguntaron por su número telefónico.

OUR

• They are going to check our weight.= Van a tomarnos nuestro peso.
  
• Our neighbor is away on vacation. = Nuestro vecino está fuera por vacaciones.
  
• This is our son Ramón. = Éste esnuestro hijo Ramón.
